Sigma Phi Lambda welcomes all Christian women, regardless of denominational background. We do not utilize a bid process; instead, membership is based on maintaining established requirements.
If you have any questions or concerns about these expectations, we would be happy to talk with you and provide clarification or support.
Membership Requirements
Our Four Membership Requirements
Must attend 75% of all pointed events
We understand that school, work, and personal responsibilities can make schedules busy, so this requirement helps encourage consistent involvement, strengthen sisterhood, and keep members connected. Excused absences are approved at national’s discretion.
Actively attending a local church or seeking one
While Phi Lamb provides opportunities for worship and fellowship, our girls should also be pursuing their relationship with God outside of our events through involvement in a church community.
Actively attending a Bible study or seeking one
While Phi Lamb offers opportunities for fellowship and spiritual encouragement, this requirement encourages members to continue growing in their faith and building community outside of Phi Lamb events. Phi Lamb has a sorority-wide Bible study or you could find your own!
Must pay 100% of dues
Members are expected to pay 100% of chapter dues each semester, as dues help support Phi Lamb events, activities, and chapter operations. At the same time, we never want finances to prevent someone from being part of our community, and we are committed to working with members when challenges arise.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
All of our events are either pointed or unpointed. This system allows us to encourage girls to attend more events and bond with their sisters!
Examples of pointed events are chapter, covenant group, prayer event, outreach, retreat, service event, initiation, and more!
Unpointed events include socials and other fun events we have throughout the semester!

Phi Lamb is designed for busy college women!
Every Monday night we have a chapter meeting at 7:30pm, this is a time to go over weekly activities while also having a time for worship and a devotional given by one of our sisters. Throughout the rest of the week, girls must meet up with their “covenant group,” which is a smaller group of girls, to discuss the highs and lows of life, plus their prayer requests.
Besides from those weekly events, we have various pointed and unpointed events. While most events are pointed to encourage girls to attend, we do keep our time commitment below about 4 hours a week!
Girls must attend 75% of pointed events in order to maintain the active status.

Our sorority is not affiliated with one church. We have girls of many denominations that go to many different churches. We love bringing girls with us on Sunday to try out the churches so that you can find the best fit for you!

Typically, dues have been around $300 a semester. We do have different payment plans to help split up the cost throughout the semester.
Note: New Member dues (first semester) are slightly more than actives in order to account for more New Member events!
